Tool for Replit

Replit Agent, with a browser of its own.

Add UnblockingAPI under Replit's MCP servers and Agent can read the pages and docs your app depends on - even ones that block bots or render with JavaScript - and get JSON where a template covers the site.

Replit · hosted MCP server

Server URL

https://mcp.unblockingapi.com/mcp
  1. 1Open Integrations → MCP Servers and click + Add MCP server
  2. 2Name it UnblockingAPI and paste the URL above
  3. 3Click Test & save, sign in and allow access

The app never sees your API key. Disconnect it any time under Connected apps.

Current docs

Agent reads the API reference as it is today when it wires up an integration.

Real pages as input

Point Agent at a live page to copy a structure, check data, or test what your scraper will see.

Every project

Connect once; the tools are available to Agent in all your Replit projects.

Replit Agent can call tools from any remote MCP server. With UnblockingAPI it gets unblock_fetch - rotating residential proxies and a real browser when needed - and find_templates for structured data from known sites.

Add it to Replit

MCP server, signing in

RecommendedSign in, no key

Paste the hosted URL and approve access. No key to copy, nothing to install.

  1. 1Open the MCP Servers settings pane under Integrations and click + Add MCP server.
  2. 2Display name UnblockingAPI, URL https://mcp.unblockingapi.com/mcp.
  3. 3Click Test & save; Replit walks you through signing in to UnblockingAPI.

API key header instead

URL + API key

Same hosted URL, authenticated by your key in a header.

  1. 1Before Test & save, open Advanced settings and add a header Authorization with the value Bearer your_api_key_here.

Try it in Replit

Ask this once you're connected. Replit should find the Google template with find_templates and come back with parsed results instead of HTML.
Use unblockingapi to get the Google results for "best espresso machine" as structured data, then summarise the top three.
No code

Want structured data instead of raw HTML?

unblock_fetch hands back the full rendered page. For clean fields instead - a price, a title, a whole list - build a template visually in the editor: load the page, tap what you want, done. No CSS selectors to write by hand.

Save it and it's a reusable API endpoint - same account, same key, same as the built-in templates. Build the structure once, then call it from your app - or your AI agent - forever.

Replit questions

No - the MCP connection gives Replit Agent tools while it works with you. For your app to fetch pages at runtime, call the UnblockingAPI REST API (or one of the official SDKs) with your key stored in Replit Secrets. Agent can set that up for you.

Yes. Replit passes custom MCP traffic through its security scanner, which checks tool definitions and planned calls. UnblockingAPI's three tools are read-only: they fetch pages, look up templates and return build guides, and change nothing.

Not when you sign in. Replit gets an access token for the hosted server, and the server uses your key on its behalf, so the key itself never leaves UnblockingAPI. You can disconnect any time under Connected apps. If you connect with an API key header instead, the key is stored in Replit's own config.

The MCP server is free and open source. Fetches run on your UnblockingAPI account: every successful fetch costs 1 credit and failed ones are free. New accounts get 500 free credits with no credit card, and plans make credits cheaper at volume. Looking up templates is free.

Three, all read-only. unblock_fetch reads any URL through rotating residential proxies and a real browser, picking a plain fetch or a browser per site by itself. It returns the page as Markdown (HTML on request), or JSON with a template. find_templates checks whether a published template covers a site. get_build_guide gives Replit the API reference and recipes when you build an app on the API. Details on the MCP server page.

The hosted server: nothing to install or update, and most apps sign in without a key. Run it locally with npx -y @unblockingapi/mcp if you prefer to keep the process on your machine - the tools and costs are the same.
