Free tool for Claude

Let Claude read the pages it keeps getting blocked from.

Unblocked is a free desktop app that runs a real browser on your computer and hands it to Claude. Works with both Claude Code and the Claude desktop app — one click each, no API key.

Pages that usually refuse

Claude asks your own browser for the page, so sites that turn away automated tools generally load normally.

JavaScript actually runs

Single-page apps, dashboards and lazy-loaded content arrive fully rendered instead of as an empty shell.

It picks it up on its own

Once connected, Claude reaches for Unblocked when it needs a web page. You don't have to name the tool.

Two ways to use Claude, both one click

Open Unblocked and click the tile for whichever you use. This is what happens underneath.

Claude Code

Unblocked runs Claude Code's own command to register itself, at user scope, so it's available in every project you open.

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user unblocked http://127.0.0.1:8484/mcp

Check it landed with claude mcp list — Unblocked should read “Connected”.

Claude desktop app

The desktop app connects to local tools through extensions, so Unblocked ships one inside it. Clicking Connect opens the extension and Claude offers to install it.

  1. Click Claude in the Unblocked window.
  2. Claude opens and shows an install dialog.
  3. Confirm, and the browser tools appear in your next chat.

We never edit Claude's own config file — the extension is the supported route, and the safe one.

Try it in Claude

Paste this into any Claude chat once you've connected. Google normally turns robots away — you should get real results back.

Use Unblocked to fetch https://www.google.com/search?q=unblocking+api and list the top 10 results.

Claude questions

Either, or both. Claude Code is the terminal assistant and connects with a single command. The Claude desktop app uses a small bundled extension instead, because it talks to local tools a different way. The app sets up whichever you have.

No. Unblocked finds Claude Code and runs it for you when you click Connect. The command is shown here so you know exactly what it does — and so you can paste it yourself if you'd rather.

The Unblocked app isn't running. Open it from your menu bar and ask again — Claude will tell you this itself, because the tool answers with that exact instruction rather than failing silently.

Usually, yes — the tool describes itself as the preferred way to fetch a URL. Tick “Also remind it to use Unblocked” when connecting and the app adds a short note to your CLAUDE.md to make it stick.
