Tool for Bolt

Let Bolt read the real web while it builds.

Add UnblockingAPI as a custom connector and Bolt's agent can read the pages you're building from - even ones that block bots or render with JavaScript - and get JSON where a template covers the site.

Bolt · hosted MCP server

Server URL

https://mcp.unblockingapi.com/mcp
  1. 1Chatbox + → Connectors → Manage connectors, then Custom MCP server
  2. 2Paste the URL above, transport HTTP
  3. 3Choose MCP OAuth, click Connect and allow access

The app never sees your API key. Disconnect it any time under Connected apps.

Real pages as reference

Bolt sees the live layout, copy and data instead of working from a description.

Docs as they are now

Integrations get built against today's API reference.

Per project or everywhere

Enable it for the projects that need it, or auto-enable it for all.

Bolt's built-in connectors cover tools like Notion and GitHub; anything with a remote MCP server can be added as a custom connector. UnblockingAPI's gives Bolt unblock_fetch and find_templates: the live web through rotating residential proxies and a real browser, and JSON from known sites.

Add it to Bolt

Custom MCP server, signing in

RecommendedSign in, no key

Paste the hosted URL and approve access. No key to copy, nothing to install.

  1. 1On the Bolt homepage, click + in the chatbox, then Connectors → Manage connectors, and choose Custom MCP server.
  2. 2Name UnblockingAPI, URL https://mcp.unblockingapi.com/mcp, transport type HTTP.
  3. 3Authentication MCP OAuth, then Connect; sign in to UnblockingAPI and allow access.
  4. 4Choose whether to auto-enable it for all projects.

API key instead

URL + API key

Same hosted URL, authenticated by your key in a header.

  1. 1Same steps, with authentication API key and your UnblockingAPI key pasted in.

Try it in Bolt

Ask this once you're connected. Bolt should find the Google template with find_templates and come back with parsed results instead of HTML.
Use unblockingapi to get the Google results for "best espresso machine" as structured data, then summarise the top three.
No code

Want structured data instead of raw HTML?

unblock_fetch hands back the full rendered page. For clean fields instead - a price, a title, a whole list - build a template visually in the editor: load the page, tap what you want, done. No CSS selectors to write by hand.

Save it and it's a reusable API endpoint - same account, same key, same as the built-in templates. Build the structure once, then call it from your app - or your AI agent - forever.

Bolt questions

No - connectors give Bolt's agent context while it builds. For the app to fetch pages itself, call the UnblockingAPI REST API from server-side code with your key as an environment variable.

Only if you use it often. Bolt notes that many active connectors can slow it down, so enabling it per project from the + menu is a fine default.

Not when you sign in. Bolt gets an access token for the hosted server, and the server uses your key on its behalf, so the key itself never leaves UnblockingAPI. You can disconnect any time under Connected apps. If you connect with an API key header instead, the key is stored in Bolt's own config.

The MCP server is free and open source. Fetches run on your UnblockingAPI account: every successful fetch costs 1 credit and failed ones are free. New accounts get 500 free credits with no credit card, and plans make credits cheaper at volume. Looking up templates is free.

Three, all read-only. unblock_fetch reads any URL through rotating residential proxies and a real browser, picking a plain fetch or a browser per site by itself. It returns the page as Markdown (HTML on request), or JSON with a template. find_templates checks whether a published template covers a site. get_build_guide gives Bolt the API reference and recipes when you build an app on the API. Details on the MCP server page.

The hosted server: nothing to install or update, and most apps sign in without a key. Run it locally with npx -y @unblockingapi/mcp if you prefer to keep the process on your machine - the tools and costs are the same.
