# UnblockingAPI

> A web unblocking API: fetch any public page through rotating residential proxies and a real browser when the site needs one, and get JSON instead of HTML wherever a template covers the site. 1 credit per successful request, failures free, 500 free credits on signup.

## For AI apps (MCP)

- Hosted MCP server: https://mcp.unblockingapi.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Sign in with OAuth (most apps), or send `Authorization: Bearer <api key>`.
- Three read-only tools: `unblock_fetch` (read any URL; the API picks a plain fetch or a browser per site; returns Markdown by default, `format: "html"` for markup, JSON with `template`), `find_templates` (free; find the template for a site by URL, keyword or category) and `get_build_guide` (free; the REST API reference and recipes for building apps on the API).
- Run it locally instead: `npx -y @unblockingapi/mcp` with `UNBLOCKINGAPI_KEY` set.

- [API docs](https://unblockingapi.com/docs): `GET|POST https://api.unblockingapi.com/unblock?url=…` with `X-Api-Key`. Optional `render`, `location`, `template`, wait options, `max_age`. Returns JSON with the page's HTML (or the template's fields).
- Server-side only: the API sends no CORS headers to third-party sites, so call it from your backend, not from browser code (that also keeps the key private).
